Welcome to Mahbub's Homepage

I am currently working as a postdoctoral research assistant at the School of Materials Engineering, Purdue University. I obtained my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering of The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). In my doctoral research, I developed an explicit electron version of the ReaxFF reactive force field method (eReaxFF) under the supervision of Dr. Adri van Duin. Previously, I worked on the development of a Lithium-Sulfur force field and molecular dynamics simulations of Li-S battery cathode materials, anode-electrolyte interfacial chemistries, and hydrogen embrittlement in structural iron. I obtained my BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh.

In my masters' research, I worked on developing a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of all-body lifting aircraft. During my undergradute studies, I was an active member of my university robot team and participated in the 7th Asia Pacific Robot contest Robocon 2008, Pune, India as a team leader of Bangladesh team.

My favorite pastimes are travelling, sightseeing, and photography!
